Silicone
Specifically selected silicone-based oils are emulsified in water.
They are used for example in heatset printing mills to protect the ink on the paper and provide a soft glossy shine on the magazines. Silicone emulsions cover the full scope of concentrations, depending on the printing mills’ needs.
Other emulsions make it possible to distribute the oils evenly over the mould surface leading to a more economical and ecological demoulding process. Silicone-based emulsions are used e.g. for producing moulded parts in plastic.
